2006 Sorrel Quarter Horse Mare
2006 Sorrel Quarter Horse Mare
Magic Sandy has a 2 page Black Type Pedigree. Bred in Texas by the late Starkey Smith, her Dam is Show Biz Sandy, NCHA LTE: $91,221.70; '93 NCHA World Champion. Sandy is 1/2 sister to Show Biz Kitty, dam to combined money earners of over $837,595.00. Her sire, Magic Ride was cutting horse of the year in 2008 and had earnings of 117k. Sandy was bred early, showing in her 4 year old year with NCHA earnings of $2598.89. She is super smart, quick, smooth, and was a dependable cutting teacher for me. She is an excellent mother, and keeps a tidy stall and paddock. She is the talker in the barn.  Every farrier compliments her excellent feet. We absolutely love owning this mare because she is sensible, calm in every type of terrain, a genuine pleasure to ride. Some think she actually gets mad when they loose the cow.  She has carried four foals. Magic Rays, her first, has won $21,753 to date and was in the top 20 at Fort Worth in his futurity year. Her last two foals with us have been correct, big, strong, wonderfully curious and easy to handle.
2008 Sorrel Rabicano Quarter Horse Mare
Jessicat was started and trained for NRCHA futurity by Will Pennebaker.  She had a few years doing ranch work before going back to Will to be sold. Purchased when she was 6,  l kept her in training with Will for 3 years before moving to idaho.  Jason Gay suggested Jessicat was talented enough for Open Bridle competition.  Jason showed her for less than a year and in that short time won $1492.15 qualifying for NRCHA 2018 World Show. When we decided to breed Magic Sandy we thought it best to breed both mares. Jessi has been to countless brandings, is cool as a cucumber when used to start difficult colts, and  doesn't even mind team roping. She has a smooth gait and covers a lot of ground with her big ranch walk.  Whatever you ask, she is game!  When it comes to cattle she is double gritty and fearless.   On the flip side, Jessi knows when a child is riding and adjusts.  It is so fun to watch her turn into a babysitter! Jessi's first 2 babies have her long wide blaze and assorted white socks. We see her 5 star temperament in her first colt, Chip. She has developed into an excellent mother even sharing her grain with her new filly.  We consider Jessi a once in a lifetime horse and we are very excited to watch the development of her first two foals.
